The
Right to Recover as Whole Persons
"My
experience treating the disease of disordered
eating and addictions of every kind has led me
to believe
that individuals have the right to recover
as whole persons. Full recovery requires the
treatment of
all addictions--whether it is food, alcohol, drug,
sexual or a combination. It also requires an
honest
look into all areas of a person's life, including
spirituality and family relationships."

Multiple
Addictions
We
believe that full and lasting recovery depends
on treating all addictions simultaneously. At Shades
of Hope we provide the safety,
counseling and support to help clients discover
their core issues and
find the courage to face and overcome them. The process
requires hard work, commitment, self-awareness
and honesty. Our primary goal is for each
client to understand and accept the disease of
addiction, his or her powerlessness over it and
that recovery
is possible through abstinence and knowledge.
Spirituality
We
also believe that for long-lasting recovery there
must be a personal spiritual walk with one's own
God. Spirituality is one of the cornerstones of
our program and is integrated throughout the day
in
lectures, daily personal and group meditation
and in the beauty of the surroundings.
Multiple
Programs
While
most clients complete a 42-day
Program in Residence with the option of extending
treatment through our Transitional
Living and Halfway House programs, we
offer alternatives for a broader spectrum of
treatment needs.
In
addition to our core Residential
Treatment program, Weeklong Eating Disorders Intensive workshops and Three-day
Weekend retreats are scheduled
throughout the year
Affordable
Shades
of Hope is dedicated
to providing exceptional care at a cost that allows
decisions about treatment to
be based
on what is best for the client and not necessarily
on the cost of treatment. Shades
of Hope will
file with insurance providers for pre-certified admissions.
